Samantha Robertson

Samantha RobertsonSamantha has worked primarily in the areas of mental health, relationship counselling and treatment evaluation; consulting at Matters of Mind since 2005. Samantha combines a strong research background with a solid repertoire of clinical experience previously holding positions in general practice clinics, a psychiatric hospital, community health organisations, Queensland Health and job network agency. In these roles Samantha has worked with individuals and couples to address issues such as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, emotional eating, binge eating, alcohol and substance use, anger management and stress management. Samantha has trained extensively in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and is further developing her practice in a branch of CBT known as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Samantha has an ongoing interest and involvement in research and evidence-based practice. Samantha is currently completing a Clinical Doctorate of Psychology at Queensland University of Technology in the area of binge eating and Metacognitive Therapy. 

 

Dr Suzanne Drake, Clinical Psychologist

Dr Suzanne Drake

Suzanne has worked as a psychologist in a private practice setting for over 20 years in Logan south of Brisbane, and for the past six years at Matters of Mind in Red Hill.  Suzanne has a special interest in adult mental health, and in particular in the areas of depression, anxiety, stress, perinatal depression, suicide prevention and trauma.  Suzanne is also an accredited Triple P (Standard and Stepping Stones) provider.  Suzanne’s specialty treatment areas are Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Grief and Bereavement Counselling.  In addition to her private practice service delivery Suzanne has previously worked as a psychologist for Queensland Health, and as Senior Research Assistant/Evaluator with the University of Queensland and with Queensland University of Technology.
